Fresh grape juice is rich in vitamins A, B and C and various minerals. Grapes act as a natural tonic of the body, and in addition it is an extremely nutritious food. It contains about 20 percent sugar, so it is an energy-rich food. This fruit is also a very important source of bioflavonoids, which protect the body from free radicals.

The skin of red grapes is rich in phenolic substances, which give it color and taste, and give us health. Polyphenols (resveratrols, anthocyanins, catechins and quercetins) are antioxidants that destroy harmful substances, free radicals that can cause tumors. They keep the arteries open, thus reducing the risk of heart disease.

Red grapes should be eaten often because of their nutrient richness, mostly potassium, vitamins C, B1 and B6 and manganese. Black grapes are also rich in flavonoids, the most important of which are quercetin and resveratrol, because they reduce blood clotting and lower bad LDL cholesterol, thus reducing the risk of heart disease. Consumption of red grapes increases the level of the hormone melatonin, necessary for good sleep. Resveratrol, which has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties, has a positive effect on motor and mental functions, and also helps flexibility and heart muscle health. Some research has shown that it plays an important role in preventing malignant diseases.

White grapes have a very similar energy value to black, slightly less potassium, and calcium, but are poor in phenols compared to black grapes. Wash the grapes just before eating, and to keep it fresh, keep them in the refrigerator.
